Colin started his CrossFit journey in 2012 and at the time he weighed 160 pounds and had a 185 pound deadlift. Fast forward to 2018 and he weighs 195 pounds with a 450 pound deadlift. This week with the CrossFit Games approaching Charlie and Chris discuss how much the CrossFit Games and CrossFit competitions have evolved over the years. The BCS Classic is the largest CrossFit event in Bryan/College Station. This is the ninth year that College Station CrossFit has put on the event. Now it takes place at the Cellucor HQ gym and facility but it started as a very small event and has turned into one of the larger events in the area. Brittany Berryman, 32 years old, is on the podcast today. She was a former member at CSCF and actually a former trainer here at the gym 10 years ago. She was one of the loyal members from the 5am crew! She and her family moved to California two years ago so her boys could pursue a career in acting. Kyle Cockerham, 23 years old, has been working out at CSCF for almost two years. In the last 6 months he has flipped a switch and dialed in his nutrition and intensity in the gym causing him to lose 28 pounds. Terrence Murphy would workout for 3 hours and catch 1000 footballs before lunch when he was in college. He had an incredible career at Texas A&M as wide receiver then went on to play for the Green Bay Packers. He embodies grit and self discipline. Being an athlete all of his life made hitting the gym easy when it complimented his sport. But after his football career was over he had to find a way to work health and fitness into his life "post" football career. In 2008 I self published a book. In the book I share some of my personal training clients stories and unpack my 7 easy fitness strategies for taking back your life. Although the book is 10 years old the principles are still applicable today. I do a lot of public speaking and will often use these 7 strategies as my outline for my talk. I have decided to read you my book on this podcast. It’s been broken up into four different episodes (74, 75, 77 & 78). This is chapter 8 and the Last Words chapter.
