Recently they participated in what they call the “Hard 75 Days”. They inspired each other to eat healthy and worked out at the gym daily. Listen to hear more about the "Hard 75 Days" and for a super cool story of how they support each other and never stop making new goals once one is reached.

This month we will be throwing it back to some of our older episodes that we think are too good to not share again! This week, we’re throwing it back to an episode we recorded right at the beginning of COVID. Enjoy!

Danielle Johnson, 42 years old is a mother of four. During this interview Danielle shares about how much her life has been greatly impacted by health and fitness. It has helped her take care of her God-given body and enabled her to exercise more discipline in other faucets of her life.

Danielle has done an amazing job prioritizing fitness during this time of social distancing and working out at home. She is achieving a great feat, she is doing 100 burpees a day in addition to her regular workout. She has chosen her least favorite exercise and is slowly perfecting it.

She is an inspiration for many, showing that even the most difficult things for us personally can become our strengths.

Q&A with Rich Froning at the 2022 BCS Classic

Q&A with Rich Froning at the 2022 BCS Classic

August 31, 2022

This week on the Building Better People podcast, we have none other than the goat of CrossFit, Rich Froning himself. This interview was recorded at the 2022 BCS Classic just this past week. Rich is interviewed by Will Lewis, senior pastor at Brazos Fellowship, and he shares a bit about his faith and fitness journeys. Like many of us, Rich tells us that prior to 2010, he would have called himself a Christian, but he definitely was not living life the way a Christian should.

After receiving some mentorship and wise council from close friends, he started really reading the Bible and taking to heart what Jesus says about how we should live our lives.

Listen in to not only be inspired to become better in your fitness journey, but also in your spiritual walk.

10 Minute Pep Talk - Lets revisit minutes for calories

10 Minute Pep Talk - Lets revisit minutes for calories

August 24, 2022

This month's pep talk is a re-share of one Charlie gave late last year. Charlie expands on the common misconception that if you workout, you can automatically eat more. Yes if you workout you likely are able to eat more freely. But, that creates a very unhealthy thought pattern in your brain. Exercise should be something you do. It is making your body healthy, stronger and it will perform better for you long term. It also just happens to burn calories but that is not WHY we do it.

This message will be a wake up call for some as we head into the fall season. Football, tailgates, and all the holidays. Enjoy!

The Power of Self Awareness

The Power of Self Awareness

August 10, 2022

Do you hold yourself accountable to good reps? Are you really working at getting to full depth or getting your chin over the bar? When you add that extra weight, are your reps as good as if you took a few pounds off and focused on getting quality reps in?

Sometimes taking the focus away from the quantity of workout and turning it to the quality of those workouts can positively impact fitness.

Another question you may need to ask your self: Am I always staying within my comfort zone during my workouts?

Listen in to hear why Coach Perren thinks this questions is important, and how you can start achieving your goals using self awareness!

Managing Your Time Well

Managing Your Time Well

July 20, 2022

Coach Bennett is back on the podcast to talk about something we know by now is very important: managing our time.

More specifically, Bennett talks about the habit of utilizing your time wisely. This may look different for each person, but what matters most is that we are taking advantage of the minutes we have that we could be using to build better versions of ourselves. Bennett also addresses the question: Why do we do things that are challenging to us? You’ll have to listen in to hear the answer!
